Victorian Lace - my first project

A few weeks I finished my first "knitted lace" (where you work yarn and decreases on both sides) project - Alpine Knit Scarf with Double Rose Leaf Center Pattern and Diamond Border by Jane Sowerby.

I'm delighted with the result in UK 2ply Alpaca but couldn't post the pictures until now because I didn't want to spoil the surprise for the recipient.
